I am not a Christian and yet I can connect with the sentiments of this time of year. For me, when I think of Jesus, I think of compassion. The story of Jesus reminds me of what it means to truly surrender yourself for others, not martyrdom or manipulative sacrifice but genuinely being there for others.
Compassion is the knowing that we are not seperate…we are all connected…what makes you happy will bring me happiness and vice versa. It’s not rocket science, yet it seems to be very difficult for many of us to truly understand and practice.
The great thing about compassion is that it doesn't require anything
special to practice...just right intention.
