Unexpected Expansion & Quantum Leaps
The air feels electric, everything feels charged. There is a sense of uncertainty mixed with a bizarre certainty that we know everything is changing, but we just don’t know what we are changing into and we don’t really know who or what is driving the change… we just know it’s happening.
There are big cycles playing out right now in astrology, we are still in eclipse season, the Uranus-Jupiter Conjunction in Taurus is exact as I’m sharing this (April 20/21) and there is a potent Scorpio Full Moon coming up next week. The volume is turned up and it can all feel a bit too loud.
As I move through the world lately, I’ve noticed that I have a constant on guard feeling as I can’t help but sense that many people are also feeling this way. It’s as though we’re all trying not to unravel and that many of us are one bad thought, look, feeling or fear away from just giving up or freaking out.
I always look to and work with the astrology cycles as a way to get in touch with the energies (scroll down for tips and a ritual suggestion for this Uranus-Jupiter conjunction) and right now the Uranus-Jupiter dynamic of unexpected expansion in Taurus is activating everything to do with safety, security, resources, finances our planet as well as issues to do with sustainability, values and our quality of life. The spot light is on survival and the shadow of this is being stirred up.
Imagine for a moment that Jupiter - King of the Gods, and Uranus - God of The Heavens are having a once in 14 year meeting and this time they are meeting to discuss everything to do with Taurus - The Earth.
This is a reckoning time for humanity. These big forces are coming together right now and discussing the bigger picture of how we relate to everything to do with Taurus. Taurus rules over the material tangible aspects of life on Earth. This includes food, farming, finances, water and anything to do with our basic survival. Taurus is also associated with the value we give to things and what we deem as important as a species.
The Gods are looking at the bigger picture and are dialled into the greater cycles of humanity as a whole and this can be why you feel the change is happening but you can’t put your finger on exactly what is changing right now!
Lean into this process, allow it to have its way with you. There is the potential for you at a personal level to experience consciousness shifts that are responses to the collective shifts. This can be so exciting as you sense that you are living through a time of unprecedented change happening so fast and in one life time!
As I wrote in my 2024 Astrology Forecast “This combination of Jupiter and Uranus holds the potential for unexpected breakthroughs that are expansive, giving a powerful sense of freedom! A new sense of aliveness wants to emerge and it appears that we are all going to be grateful for this big energy shift. This may be a state of mind or literally a shift in your life at a practical level. Either way, this activation sets the stage for a powerful shift in the way we think about life on Earth.”
But the process of change and transformation is never comfortable. Can you ever think of a moment in your life where you felt comfortable in a process of change? Maybe changes you’ve experienced led to more comfort, but I’m referring to the actual process itself. Change is such a powerful part of our human existence and yet many of us never contemplate our true relationship to change and the purpose of change in our lives.
I remember when my marriage ended and I was so confused because I knew it needed to end and that it truly was the best thing, but it still was super scary and I still felt sad that it was ending. My marriage ending moved me to a better place in my life, however, the process was complex and could not be put in a box of either being only good or bad. This was when I truly began to learn about the complexity of holding multiple truths at once. It was positive that my marriage was ending for my future and this was true, but it was also true that it was sad and many dreams of what could have been had to be released and grieved.
It feels like we are living through a collective break up. We are being pushed to break up with the old ways as a new paradigm on Earth is preparing to emerge. We are being pushed to let go of old myths, stories and values in preparation for something new and even though this is better for us and will lead to evolution, it can still feel sad and we may still need space to grieve the old.
Ultimately though, the truth is that if nothing changes… nothing changes.
If you are to evolve on any level, things have to change, YOU have to change, and for that change to occur, you are going to experience discomfort. You will face fears, you will need to look at what is being released. You will grieve what is leaving. Before the break through comes, you will go through a process of not being what you once were but also not being what you are becoming - the liminal space!
Most of the time we are dragged through change or we try to control change but if you open your heart and mind fully to the experience, you will find that change is ultimately about transformation with the ultimate goal of evolution. If you can master your relationship to change, you will be on your way to mastering a very natural and unavoidable reality of being human.
Take a moment to open yourself at an individual level to the energy of change moving towards evolution. Embrace it. Maybe you are experiencing unexpected shifts in your consciousness and you are already opening to the new ways of thinking about the world and your life. Maybe your values have changed and you’re beginning to see shifts such as not dedicating your life only to chasing old values such as money and status. Or maybe you are becoming more conscious of your relationship to Earth and her resources.
I see one of the more obvious manifestations of the cycles upon cycles is that many of us are intuitively moving away from greed and excess. We are really seeing the shadow of this on the world stage but the cycles suggest that this bigger conversation happening in Taurus is wanting us to learn about sustainability, quality and getting back in touch with the true value of things.
How much is your time really worth? Do you really need the extra things? Do you really need the excess luxuries, money, status? How much of your life is dedicated to values that you don’t actually align with personally? These are tough questions, but if you dial into the cycles you will be supported to get to the true answers and from here, you will be able to steer your life towards what is truly important and valuable to you!
Whatever is changing, make it conscious and work with it. Harness the power of these incredible times. Harness the openings for great advancement and shifts in the world for your own individual experience. Let go of fear. Grieve what is leaving. Understand the power and potential of these times and see what opens up in your mind stream as a result. In my view, this is way better than contracting and going back to conservative ways because of fear or resisting and being scared.
Some tips for navigating this time mindfully:
Let go of duality either/or stories and embrace complexity. Check out where you can be with multiple truths at once.
Embrace change with the knowing that you can master and even honour the power of change for evolution.
Look for the break throughs, they are there.
Trust in the process. These are big cycles that are focused on shifting all of humanity, you can either go with it, or you can get lost in fear and resist and I think we all get that resistance only causes pain and suffering.
